International experts and state institutions recommend setting up a Council.

2010

The Seimas adopts guidelines for the change of cultural policy in Lithuania, initiates the legislative process of setting up a Council.

2011-2012

The Ministry of Culture submits 4 draft laws on the Council to the Seimas.

18 September, 2012

The Seimas adopts the Law on the Lithuanian Council for Culture, transfers the right to administer the Culture Support Fund.

21 November, 2012

The Government adopts a decree to set up the Lithuanian Council for Culture (LCC).

31 May, 2013

The Government approves the first board members of the LCC.
