What types of grants does the Lithuanian Council for Culture offer for culture and art creators?
Lithuanian Council for Culture awards individual, mobility, and emerging artist grants to culture and art creators.
Individual grants
Individual grants are awarded to support individual artistic expression of culture or art creators. Individual grants of €800 per month may be awarded for a maximum of 12 months. The awarded grant payment starts from January of the following year. Applications for the individual and emerging artist grants are accepted once a year in the 3rd quarter of the year.
Mobility grants
Mobility grants are awarded for strenghtening international cooperation and partnerships of culture and art creators, as well as improving professional skills of culture or art creators, in particular, for participating in traineeship programs, courses, conferences, symposiums and other activities abroad. Mobility grants may also be used for covering the costs of creative residency or masterclasses. Mobility grants may be awarded for a maximum of 6 months. The grant of up to €4,800 is paid out after signing an agreement.
Applications for mobility grants are accepted twice a year, in the second and fourth quarter of the year.
Emerging artist grants
The Emerging Artist Grant aims to support beginner artists in their cultural and creative activities. The Emerging Artist Grant of €800 per month may be awarded for a maximum of 24 months. The awarded grant payment starts from January of the following year. Applications for the individual and emerging artist grants are accepted once a year in the 3rd quarter of the year.
Applications for the Emerging Artist Grant are open to Lithuanian cultural creators and artists of full age, as well as to foreign citizens (granted they have a residence permit or create art related to Lithuanian culture, its representation, and dissemination). Another prerequisite for the grant is that applicants must have pursued a creative professional activity within the last 5 years (no more than 5 years). In the “Required Documents” section of the application, applicants must enclose a cover letter attesting to their experience of professional creative activity carried out independently for no more than the last 5 years.
