What are the funding opportunities for culture and arts projects?
The Lithuanian Council for Culture provides funding for culture and arts projects through culture and arts fields and programs. The applicable funding model is divided into several groups:
Free Competitions
Funding is available for a wide range of cultural and artistic fields, including architecture, design, visual arts, photography, interdisciplinary arts, theatre, dance, circus, literature, music, ethnic culture, and inter-domain projects. Funding is also provided for professional art creation and dissemination in Lithuania, events and presentations, information archiving and documentation, publishing, critical and analytical reflection, networking, mobility, and co-productions.
Culture and Arts Funding Programmes
These programs focus on specific operational objectives, such as community culture, the dissemination of culture and arts in Lithuania, international cooperation, and the promotion of Lithuania’s cultural heritage abroad. Funding is provided for such programmes as Memory Institutions, Community Initiatives, Memory Actualisation and Civic Education, Protection of Copyright and Related Rights, Ethnic Culture and Intangible Cultural Heritage, etc.
Strategic Funding – Long-term Programs
Strategic funding is allocated to:
- Cultural organizations,
- International cultural events,
- Strategic programs run by art creators' organizations,
- International music performance competitions held in Lithuania,
- National pavilions at the Venice Biennale.
